What time of year is best to buy a new flat screen LCD or Plasma TV on sale?
My husband and I are looking to buy a new LCD or Plasma TV and are wondering if we should wait closer until Christmas to see if the prices go down.
Christmas is actually the best time of year….for the NEW models, while September is the best time for the END of YEAR clearance on models…..

as with most eletonics the prices gradually go down, over the long term, with a step drop in prices right AFTER christmas, and after a new devolpment comes out, the older products will decress in price more.

Obviously one of the great times to buy a TV is Nov-Dec. That is the holidays and it is also football season when they want to get you into a new TV. The other time that is pretty good is in the Spring, March-May. That is the time of the year when you start to see the new TV models coming out onto the market. Electronic retailers are just like car sales, they give you great discounts on the previous year models to make room for the new ones
