  • Panasonic vs. Samsung Plasma TV’s?
I’m looking to buy a half decent first tv for gaming. I dont have a very large budget (I’m trying to stay under $1000) and I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to two choices. I’d like the set to be at LEAST 42" and I’m sticking with plasma. I was looking at a Panasonic and a Samsung plasma side-by-side at an electronics store. I thought...

  • What is better for gaming and blu-ray movies LCD or Plasma TV?
I don’t have HD programming hooked up, so I am only going to be watching blu-ray movies and playing games on either xbox 360 or PS3. I may have an antenna hooked up for over the air broadcast HD channels. So I wasn’t sure if an LCD or Plasma would be better. I am looking for 42-46" TV. Also should I get 60hz or 120hz TV, is there much of a difference? 40"...

  • What are the differences between an LCD and a Plasma television? Which lasts longer and is more economical?
I want to make a choice between an LCD and A Plasma TV for my family use. • LCD TV / Plasma TV – Which one is much better to purchase ?
While purchasing a TV, what are the points which make LCD superior over Plasma. Points to be compared are 1) Flawless picture quality, 2) Picture Resolution, 3) Wide angle viewing, 4) Contrast ratio, 5) Price. Plasma is generally better than LCD except when the the room has a lot of ambient light. LCDs are brighter and are easier to see in a bright room. powered by...

  • Whats the difference between a plasma tv & LCD tv?
Also, what would you recommend buying, plasma or LCD? Looking to get a 42" tv. Any recommendations? We have a 42" Plasma 1080i that we bought a little over two years ago. Then, the Plasmas had a much better contrast ratio and were overall much brighter than LCD HDTVs. Today, LCD HDTVs are much better and Plasmas (except for 50" or bigger) are starting to...

  • The Truth Behind CRTs And LCDs
Don’t give up on TVs. With flat panel TVs being produced today such as plasmas and LCDs, almost all purchasers are highly misinformed and suppose that the property of a flat panel is more wonderful than that of a tube (CRT) television. This is not exactly real. The image property of a plasma or LCD television is further inferior to a CRT, such as the Sony KD-34XBR970....

  • Would a DLP projection tv be better than LCD or plasma in a room that doesn’t have heat or AC?
The room is a "Florida Room", so we heat it only when we are going to use it (winter) and sometimes avoid using it in the summer due to heat. I’m concerned that LCD or Plasma TVs would not last in extreme temperatures. Would a projection TV be a better choice? As long as it gets a little bit of heat from the house in winter you shouldn’t have a...

  • Should I get a wall mount for my 42 inch plasma?
I have just purchased a vizio vp422 plasma tv and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether or not i should get a wall mount for it? Right now I have it on my dresser that is level with my bed. Also would you recommend a flat wall mount or one that is tilted. Thank you for your time. Plasmas are a lot heavier than LCDs, so I’m not really sure if it’s...

  • What would be the best 42" Plasma HDTV for gaming?
I read Plasma is better for xbox gaming than LCD and 42" can go for $800. Panasonic Viera 42" Plasma HDTV** (TCP42X1) Here. This is similar to what I have myself.(except mine is 1080p) It has a near unbeleivable contrast ratio of 2,000,000 : 1 and a true contrast ratio of 30,000 : 1, so your colors and black levels will be near real life. I like the Plasma technology...

  • whats the difference between an LCD and Plasma TV?
thinking of buying a new TV but dont understand the diff. between LCD and Plasma. they looks same to me. Early on with HDTVs Plasma was the way to go. But LCD has completely caught up. Either is fine, it really is a personal preference. I personally prefer LCDs, and they are generally more versatile than the plasmas. powered by Yahoo Answers addthis_url = 'http%3A%2F%2Fplasmama.com%2Fplasma-screen-tv%2Fwhats-the-difference-between-an-lcd-and-plasma-tv'; ...

  • How much more energy does a Plasma TV consumer compared to a LCD TV?
How much more energy does a Plasma TV consumer compared to a LCD TV? Everyone says Plasma consumes more energy than a LCD, but by how much? Twice as much as a LCD? Newer versions of plasmas are now 'Energy Certified", does that mean they still consumer more energy than LCD, but overall, does not take that much compared to a traditional CRT TV? Traditional CRT...

  • What are the primary differences of a Plasma TV and an LCD TV?
It would be nice if you added the reasons why LCD is better or why Plasma is better. plasma tvs advantages are very bright and vibrant colors as well as deep blacks for fantastic contrast. the burn-in issue wont be an issue on most 08 models…and this is because they have it now so that the image will shift a pixel back and forth..this way relieving that pixel from...

  • What's the difference between Plasma & LCD TV's?
i find them the same. Note: Full HD Plasma and LCD TV's Plasma and LCD panels may look similar, but the flat screen and thin profile is where the similarities end. Plasma screens, as its name suggests, uses a matrix of tiny gas plasma cells charged by precise electrical voltages to create a picture. LCD screens (liquid crystal display) are in layman's terms sandwiches...

  • Does anyone own an HP plasma or LCD television?
Do you like it? I've been shopping for a new plasma television, probaly at least 50 inch. I noticed the HP televisions are alot less than alot of the other manufacters, like LG, Panasonic, and of course Sony. Plasma, go with Panasonic, no regrets, best price/quality ratio. Stay very very away from cheap Plasmas or LCDS because of their very bad black level (contrast...
