Philips Plasma TV screen has gone to a flashing red, pixilated screen only. I had a Philips Authorized Service Tech out to repair, and he had no idea what the problem was. Has anyone had this problem or could anyone point me in the right direction toward a solution? I have had the whole thing apart, and I am fine with tracking down components and troubleshooting them....

Less than 3 years old, my Philips 50-inch plasma TV died suddenly. Audio is fine, but the display has large black blobs on both sides and garbage in the middle, regardless of the input selected. Here is a semi detailed video of a 50″ Philips plasma tv repair model 50PF9731D/37. This was my first TV repair and i thought it would be helpful to show how easy it can be. I replaced 2 3300uf 10v 105c capacitors. From what i’ve read this is one of the most common repairs for LCD and Plasma due to power surge. Total cost of repair was about $10 in parts....

Never cleaned it, dont want to ruin it. I don't think it matters but its a Philips. (1) No tree products. So no paper towel, tissue paper, etc. (2) No house hold cleaners.
