Why are Vizio Plasma TV's so much less than others that seem to have the same specifications?
Vizio is a new brand name and has positioned itself as a value leader. Little is known about their reliability, so in exchange for your bargain you are taking a chance on the long-term.
Functionally they are very good for the money. The CNET review referenced gives some idea about where the compromises lie.

They dont last over a year. And they dont support their product. Not as good as picture even if the same specs as a high end unit.
