does plugging a playstation 2 into a 50' pioneer plasma widescreen tv cause problems?
rumor says it will srew up the tv
something about the tv uses gas and it ruins it
does this affect all big televisions
It has nothing to do with gas.
Plasma TVs can be effected by screen burn if images are left on them unchanged for long periods of time, when using games consoles on plasma TVs be wary of pausing the games for any long period of time, also some games have score or status bars etc. that are always in the same area of the screen, excessive play on one game could burn a rough impression of this onto the screen.
Quite a common feature on a lot of the bigger brands is called 'Picture Rotation' or that brands equivilent name, this dramatically reduces the chances of any screen burn, check the specifications section at the back of your instruction manual.
